STI Prevention

Preventing STIs and maintaining your sexual health is dependent on more than just using condoms. Persons who are sexually active should be regularly screened for HIV and other STIs as well as be vaccinated (if applicable) for HPV.

Persons who use condoms inconsistently or not at all are at elevated risk for HIV, as well as other STIs, and should consider using PrEP. PrEP should be utilized in conjunction with other risk-reduction strategies, but for persons, for example, who do not use condoms every time they have sex, PrEP offers 92% protection for HIV.
